Terms of Use.
The ground rules — in plain English. Last updated June 2026.
1. What this service is
renovations.at is a matching service: we connect homeowners who want renovation quotes with independent renovation businesses who provide them. Using the site means accepting these terms. We are not a builder, contractor, agent or project manager, and we do not perform, supervise or warrant any renovation work.
2. Providers are independent businesses
Renovators in the network are independent businesses — not our employees, partners or agents. Quotes are their own estimates; contracts, payments, scheduling, workmanship and warranties are entirely between you and the provider you choose.
3. Vetting is a filter, not a warranty
We check ABN, public-liability insurance and licensing (where the provider's state and trades require it) at onboarding, and references at entry. This materially raises the floor — it is not a guarantee of any provider's work, conduct or solvency. Building and trade licensing requirements vary by state, territory and job value: always verify the licence for your specific project, and use the written-contract and staged-payment practices your state's building authority recommends.
4. No guarantee of quotes or outcomes
We aim to match every enquiry with up to three providers, but we can't guarantee a specific number of quotes (especially in regional areas), the prices quoted, or that any provider will take your job. Quotes may legitimately change after a site visit; your final scope and price belong in your contract with the provider.
5. We never handle your money
renovations.at takes no deposits, processes no payments and earns no commission on your contract value. Homeowners pay us nothing; providers pay us for qualified leads. Anyone claiming to collect renovation payments on our behalf is not us — report it.
6. Fair use of the service
Submit genuine enquiries about real projects. Providers must not resell leads or contact homeowners about anything other than the enquiry. Abusive, fake or bulk-automated submissions may be blocked.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law, whose guarantees this clause does not exclude), we're not liable for loss arising from quotes, contracts or work performed by providers, or from reliance on content on this site. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to re-supplying the service.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; the current version lives at this address with its date above. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
